The effort to preserve working land and its resources in our rural county involves not just the Jefferson LandWorks Collaborative and its members. We rely on the initiative and generosity of engaged citizens who believe that agriculture and forestry are good for the economy, the community and the environment. Please consider assisting our effort in the following ways:
- Volunteer with our member organizations;
- Purchase farm and wood products produced locally and sustainably;
- Sponsor a new farmer by helping to purchase or lease land;
- Place an easement on your working land that would ensure productivity in perpetuity;
- Make a financial, tax deductible donation to the Jefferson LandWorks Collaborative.
The Port Townsend Farmers Market is one of the fastest growing and most successful non-urban markets in Washington State. Sales have risen from $60,000 in the 2000 season to nearly $700,000 in 2007.
